Chapter Three
Zack lay still, his eyes slitted open just enough to take in Grant as he walked across the room to the desk. Grant slid the gun onto the flat surface before turning to stare down at him lying on the floor like a heap of garbage. The fucker was no longer armed, but Zack waited, hoping the situation would get better.
"Pity you are so fucking dumb. You could’ve been an asset in the long run. I could have expanded even more with your inside information. Right now all you are gonna be is a three hour bit of fun." Grant adjusted his cock in his pants and ambled close before he tapped Zack's leg with his foot. He didn’t respond. "Well, not like you have to be awake for me to enjoy myself."
Zack had a hard time not telling the fucker to go to hell. Grant bent down and flipped Zack's dead weight onto his stomach, working at the knot binding his hands before flipping him to the side, working on the buttons of his jeans. Hatred filled Zack -- no way would the scum fuck him. Zack’s hand shot out and Grant jumped when his vise-like grip grabbed Grant’s prick and squeezed.
"That is not for you, shithead. Take your hands off me or I’ll twist it off," Zack snarled.
"You'll never get out of here alive. Do you think I'm stupid enough not to have guys all over this area? You can't get us all," Grant rasped between gritted teeth.
"Not interested in all of them...just got my eye on one. Now," he squeezed and turned his wrist just a little, "back the fuck up slowly. If you try to run, you’re going without your dick. Got me?"
Grant took two small steps back, still bent a little at the waist.
"Not toward the desk. How dumb did you take me for?" He guided Grant not too gently in the other direction. "You signed your death warrant the moment you touched my son. And now there are no witnesses."
Zack spun Grant around and shoved him against the wall, capturing Grant's hands behind his back. "You fucked me over. I'll be marked from here on out. No one will ever trust me again."
"You don't deserve trust. Look at what you did. You almost got your brother killed. You cheated on your lover too. Hell, your son hardly knows you," Grant gloated.
"He knows who I am." Zack shoved his knee into Grant's back as anger surged through him. Truth hurt, and it was his fault, all of it. Except...one thing -- Grant was the one who brought Micah into it. Grant was scum in the first place, and taking him out might make up for some of the wrong the man had done.
"You're a loser Zack. You'll always be a loser."
The words hit Zack hard, but he couldn't let it show. This piece of garbage wasn't worth losing his temper over. He had to hang on and make sure John had enough time to get Micah and Troy to safety.
